Capt. Rob Challans grew up on a farm in Kansas. His earliest memory in life is flying with his father in a Cessna aircraft when he was around 3 years old, and it was then that he started dreaming of becoming a pilot. Capt. Rob started taking flying lessons before he could drive a car. He remembers riding his bicycle from the farm to the airport, about 5 miles one way, to take his first flight lessons. He has since flown more than 13,000 hours over 32 years without an accident. He has flown many types of aircraft, from the smallest (an ultralight) to the largest (a Boeing 747), during his flying career. Capt. Rob feels he has been fortunate to live out his dreams of flying. "After being a husband and father, my proudest accomplishment is to fly Duggy the DC-3 to meet all the young people who are working hard to make their dreams come true".
